Cabinet meet today

JAMMU, Jan 23: The state cabinet is meeting tomorrow in the chairmanship of the Chief Minister Omar Abdullah at 2.30 PM to discuss the creation of staff for 11 model degree colleges earlier sanctioned by cabinet on January 2, 2012.
The cabinet had approved 13 degree colleges against an amount of Rs 16713.33 Cr (Rs 10432.97 lakhs for 8 PMRP colleges and Rs 6280.36 lakhs for 5 state plan colleges through JKPCC earlier this month.
Reliable sources stated, “Though this was the only agenda item yet the cabinet is also likely to review relief measures being taken in the post-snowfall scenario in the Valley and in the hilly districts of Jammu. At the spur of moment, it may also deliberate upon the report of cabinet sub committee headed by Minister for finance A R Rather regarding return of all power projects to the state. The committee reportedly has suggested that the Centre in the first instance may return Uri and Salal power projects to the state,” the sources added.
The cabinet may also discuss the recommendations of cabinet sub-committee on Public Private Partnership.
KNS reported that security situation review related to Republic Day and creation of posts for newly approved colleges may also be discussed in the meeting.
