Sopore observes shutdown

A  spontaneous shutdown is being observed Wednesday in Sopore against the killing of Lashkar-e-Toiba's North Kashmir chief Abdullah Uni in a gun-battle with government forces on Tuesday.
Though no organization has called for strike, shops, educational institutions and other business establishments are closed while private traffic is plying partially, locals said.

Seen as a major success by the government against militancy, Uni was gunned down in Batpora locality during a fierce gunfight. He was the most wanted militant in the Kashmir valley.
Locals said that he was buried in a graveyard in Dangiwachi.
Sources in police said that they were on alert to avert any untoward incident.
