Srinagar, October 14 : Police arrested senior leader of the All Parties Hurriyet Conference and the President of Jammu and Kashmir Democratic Freedom Party (DFP), Shabbir Ahmed Shah in Budgam.
Shabbir Ahmad Shah was on way to Beerwah when a heavy contingent of police stopped his vehicle and took him into custody.
The DFP spokesman condemned Shabbir Shah’s arrest and said that India would not succeed in its efforts to weaken the liberation movement by keeping Shabbir Shah away from the people. He described the arrests of Kashmiri Hurriyet leaders by Indian army and police as an unwise and imprudent act.
