Continued illegal detention of Aasiya Andrabi denounced


Srinagar, November 05: Dukhtaran-e-Millat (DeM), while condemning the continued illegal detention of its Chief, Aasiya Andrabi, has said that the authorities are subjecting her to political vendetta.
The DeM spokesperson in a statement issued in Srinagar said, “Aasiya has been lodged in Srinagar central jail on judicial remand in connection with an FIR registered in 2008. The Court has already granted her bail in this FIR.”

The statement said, Eid-ul-Azha brings cheers and happiness to all Muslims but the authorities have deprived the children of the detained leader of all happiness by putting their parents behind the bars.
Meanwhile, the Jammu and Kashmir Peoples League in a statement issued in Srinagar said that the party spokesman, Imtiyaz Reshi, who was arrested on Monday, had been subjected to physical torture in custody terming it highly condemnable. Reshi was arrested from Rajbagh in Srinagar and taken to some unknown destination.
