PDP condemns use of brute force in old city


Srinagar, Dec 3 :The Peoples Democratic Party Saturday condemned the use of brute force on the people during Friday protests yesterday.

In a party statement here, the spokesman accused the state government of resorting to inhumane tactics of crowd control in which many elderly were shot by pepper guns resulting to their critical state. People are fed up by this most repressive government that is using every violent method to curb dissent, the party spokesman said.
The statement read instead of reaching out to the people this NC led coalition has ensured that people are punished for the deeds of current government’s traditional policies. Scores of young boys continue to be rounded up in Srinagar and other areas of the valley to sustain government’s ‘peace in the valley’ obsession. The party has called an immediate end to the savage treatment of peaceful protests that has so far caused heavy civilian causality, the statement added.
