KULGAM, Apr 20: Tall claims of better health care by the present Omar led NC-Cong regime have been dashed to the ground as health sector passing through the troubled waters of 'spurious drugs' now have been in the 'hot soup' when in a apparent case of medical negligence medicos at LD Hospital Srinagar left 13 mm needle inside the woman where she was operated in recent past. A woman patient identified as Negeena Banoo wife of Gulzar Ahmad Kumar resident of Khayar Hapatnar, was admitted in District Hospital Kulgam after she complained about pain.
Family members of the ailing patient today held protest demonstration in the premises of Kulgam Hospital after doctors among them one identified by the family as Mohd Amin Sagroo persuaded them to get some radio diagnostic cum clinical tests from some private clinic despite the same facility was available at the Government Hospital. Narrating the atrocities by the doctors at LD and District Hospital Kulgam, Gulzar Ahmad husband of the patient told the Early Time Plus, that "On April 4 my wife was admitted in MCH Anantnag where from she was referred to LD Srinagar and received seizure, on April 17 we were discharged from the hospital but on 18th of April she complained about pain and we admitted her in District Hospital Kulgam and Dr Amin Sagroo told us to do USG (Ultra Sound Graph) from Friends Diagnostic Centre Kulgam instead of getting the same performed at hospital." He added that through this radio- diagnostic test the doctor confirmed us 13mm needle inside the body of patient. He said that from 18th April we were being given glucose by the hospital authorities and are forced to get clinical and radio diagnostic test from selective clinics only despite the same facilities are available with the hospital. He alleged all this is done under a well planned nexus between the medicos at Govt Hospitals and the private clinics in a bid to make easy bucks.
"We told them that we can afford to get done CT Scan in private diagnostic centre as we are poor people even then they forced us to get it done from private and doctor gave us slip addressed to Accurate diagnostic centre KP Road Anantnag," he lamented. Family members of the ailing woman appealed the Chief Minister Omar Abdullah to intervene as they have approached every official in the district and none among them have taken serious and neither any one has provided them any kind of suggestion. When contacted Medical Superintendent of the aforesaid hospital assured to take action against doctors who compel patients to go for private establishments.
