Corruption in Education Department!

Anantnag, March 29 (PNK) : It's a classic case of how the tainted employees are being shielded by the administration in Jammu and Kashmir! Instead of taking action against an education department official involved in worst kind of corruption case that is being investigated by the Vigilance, department today promoted him and appointed him as District Education Planning Officer.

Then the principal of Government Higher Secondary School Mattan, Naseem-ul-Gani who was caught and captured by a student cleverly when he was taking bribe from his friend in his office on March 04, 2012. Official was suspended by then the Deputy Commissioner Anantnag Kifayat Hussain Rizvi and additional deputy commissioner Anantnag, Gulam Ahmad Dar was directed to investigate the validity of video clip and other allegations.

Sources inside the administration told PNK that the official approached court and got success in reinstating himself, however then the deputy commissioner forwarded the case of corruption to state vigilance for investigation, who is investigating the case.

“Yes, we handed over for the investigation along with the detailed report of Chief Education Officer and video footage of the incident,” adding they are investigating the case.   

Sources said that corrupt employees and officials are being promoted in the administration instead of taking action them. They said, “An official who happens to be a principal of higher secondary school gets involved in corruption what one can expect for him when he occupies higher positions and it seems that state government is not having any interest in rooting out menace of corruption from the system.” 

If sources to be believed, the tainted official has earned a huge amount by establishing fake EGS centres when he was working as District resource person in the SSA scheme during its inception. However was later removed after other functionaries of the department registered complaints against him and was found guilty.

 Sources claimed that the official against whom corruption cases are pending in vigilance is going to join the office in next few days. PNK
