Villagers found dead dog in water reservoir, held protests

Anantnag, March 28 (PNK): Hundreds of village dwellers here in south Kashmir’s Anantnag district held protest demonstrations against the Public health engineering department (PHE)  after they found a dead dog inside the water reservoir, were from they are receive drinking water supply.
Scores of village dwellers of Kanelwan Bijbehara held protest demonstration on Bijbehara-Phalgam road against the department for their apathetic attitude in supplying pure water to the residents.
Villagers told PNK that they found a dead dog inside the water reservoir today after they tasted bad smelled water in the morning and said that since from past years department has never cleaned the reservoir.
“Employees posted here, of the department have never visited the water reservoir besides they have withdrawn a huge amount on the name of cleanness and sanitation drives,” Mustaq Ahmad, a resident said, adding this is worst kind of negligence by the employees of department.
Residents alleged that the employees are not attending duties besides they have filled written complaints against them and just few unpaid employees are holding the affairs of the department in Kanelwan and adjoining areas. They have demanded a stern action against the employees.
