LeT militant involved in police constable killing arrested


Anantnag, Sept 08: Police have achieved a major breakthrough in the killing of a Police constable in Arwani area of South Kashmir’s Anantnag district, by arresting the LeT militant involved in the
Killing.
Arrested Lasker-e-Toyiba militant has been identified as Bilal Ahmad Wagay s/o Gulam Hassan Wagay, resident of Rebun Zanipora Shopian. Police also claimed to have seized two grenades from the arrested militant. During interrogation the arrested militant, according to police, admitted his role in the killing of the police constable. “Initially he pretended to be a psychological patient but later he admitted his role in the shootout.” He said, adding on his specification information police recovered two grenades in a paddy field near his house.

Police as registered a case 184/ us 392, 307 RPC 7/27 Arms Act. Worthwhile to mention that on August 26, militants attacked SOG patrol and gunned down a cop and injured a civilian.  Cop from Special Operation Group (SOG) of J&K police was later identified as Salamatullah Khan of Gingal, Uri.
During the attack militants ran away with an AK-47 Rifle and 30-round magazine of the killed cop that hasn’t been recover yet by the police.
