Kulgam, Nov. 02: Stating that the police will continue its efforts to destroy the bung cultivated in South Kashmir especially in Bijbehara Deputy Inspector General of South Kashmir Police Range , Shafkat Watalie on Wednesday said that the police is going to book about 120 persons who cultivated bung in the area this under Public Safety Act.
“We have destroyed bung cultivated over thousand Kanals of Land in Bijbehara and other areas and our ‘bung kay Kilaf Jung’ will continue till we get our goal.” DIG told reporters after concluding the Awami Durbar in Damhal Hangi Pora.
“Jammu and Kashmir police going to raise some new battalions far that we have to recruit youth but I will suggest the youth don’t depend only on government jobs use other options try yourself in private sector,” DIG said, adding that we have already adjusted some youth in private sector through our youth development cell
Earlier, the DIG addressed people and listened to the day to day problems and issues highlighted by them.
“I have listened to your problems but I can solve only those issues pertaining to the Police department, however the civil authorities will be intimated about the issues highlighted here pertaining to them,” DIG said while addressing the people.
When told what prompts police to conduct Awami Durbars, DIG said, “Police is not only meant for law and order but our work is also to look into the problems of the people who are facing hardships.”
“The aim of conducting Awami Durbar is to come close to the public,” he said.
Among others present on the occasion, SP Kulgam, DSP Shabir Ahmad, SHO D.H Pora.
