Anantnag was consumed poison last evening and was taken to Sub Distict Hospital Achabal later referred to district hospital Anantnag at around 8 pm. On reaching hospital the doctors washed her stomach and referred her toSrinagar hospital but the driver of the ambulance caused delay inproviding ambulance to the family of the girl.

"The driver told us that there was no fuel in the ambulance and demanded 850 rupees from us. We told him that we had no money but he did not listen. Then we started collecting money from the attendants of the patients in hospital yards to be paid to the driver. By the time we collected the amount the condition of the patient had worsened and finally died on way to Srinagar hospital near Pampore," the family members told mediapersons. Deputy Commissioner Anantnag, Syed Kifayat Hussain Rizvi, said that he ordered inquiry into the matter and will take action against all those who will be indicted by the
enquiry team. " Though the family members of the victim did not lodge any complaint with me but on my own i ordered enquiry into the matter and the enquiry team headed by Tehsildar wil submit the report tomorrow. Any body found guilty will be taken to task,”

When contact Tehsildar Anatnag, Gulam Rasool Bhat, who is heading the enquiry team said that during the preliminary investigation we have found that the ambulance driver as wasted about 40 valuable minutes of the patient and hence police has timely arrested him, identified as Mohd Abas .
“Yes he has (Ambulance Driver) told the family he has no fuel in the ambulance and forced them to collect 850 rupees from the patients that took about 40 minutes and with this delay the young girl lost her life.” Tehsildar Said addind that we are going to submit final report within two days in this regard
