Two days meet of State Committee of CPI(M) at Jammu concluded

JAMMU, Feb, 20,: The two days meeting of state committee of CPI (M) which concluded here today deliberated upon the political scenario of the state and passed few resolutions at the end of the meeting. Senior CPI(M) leader Shri Sham Prasad Kesar presided over the meeting.


State Secretary CPI(M) Mohammad Yousf Tarigami addressing the meeting divulged on the present political scenario of the state and demanded for making the recommendations of the Pendongkar Committee public as the same have been submitted since long and delay has led to uncertainly and disillusionment  among the people. Alleging the govt. for having failed to curb the growing menace of corruption, he said that instead of getting faded away from the system, it is getting institutionalized thereby encouraging the corrupt elements in every sphere of life.

Advocating for peoples empowerment he said, that strengthening the institutions of local self government was imperative for making the people the biggest stake holders of policy making and implementation. He said that the decisions taken in District Development Board meetings are not implemented fully that affects the translation of policies into actions on the ground. Delay in release of funds and in administrative approvals has been the biggest handicap in utilization of funds on time and achieving targets in full.

During the concluding session of the two days meet, the committee also passed few resolutions and urged the govt. to take effective measures for curbing corruption which has eaten up the vitals of society and led to encouraging fairlessness, non-accountability and negligence among the political and administrative setups. The committee demanded for universalizing the PDS and seeking food grains and other commodities from the centre as per the latest census of 2011 and streamlining the power supply in the state.

In yet another resolution the committee demanded for increasing the budget allocations under agriculture sector and suggested for increase in SGDP ratio for it. The committee also sought maximum jobs for the educated unemployed youth in one of its resolutions and sought early implementation of employment package as announced by the central govt. for providing one lac jobs to the youth of the state under skilled and unskilled sector in next five years.

CPI(M) State Committee also demanded gradual revocation of AFSPA and release of detenues not involved in heinous crimes.

It urged upon the govt. to provide all possible assistance to refugees and migrants in Jammu.
