Srinagar, October 27: Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah is likely to announce the removal of Disturbed Areas Act (DAA) tomorrow (October 28).
The chief minister will make the announcement soon after the cabinet meeting, scheduled for October 28, media reports said in Srinagar.
The revocation of the Disturbed Areas Act is reportedly within the ambit of the puppet administration and the chief minister will remove the act from four districts — Srinagar, Budgam, Samba and Jammu, the reports added citing their sources.
“Yes, the chief minister will go ahead with what he has announced,” a close aide of Omar Abdullah told a local English daily.
The chief minister had reportedly informed the Indian government that the revocation of DAA was need of the hour and the move would go a long way in peace building.
