AKAD(AISHMUQAM): 3 Rashtriya Rifles, Battalion under agies of 1 Sect RR, CIF(V) took a leap ahead with the advent of new year by organising a CHILAI-KALAN MELA on 01 Jan 2012 for the Awaam of Lidder Valley.
Showkat Ahmad, a local said that this was a unique event organized by Army where everybody starting from toddlers to elderly people enjoyed in a tension free and brotherly environment. The Army has been approached by people from Khiram and Hapatnar to organize such events where they have promised to assist Army in making any arrangement
The CHILAI-KALAN MELA was organised at Akad Park, Aishmuqam which included various recreational and informative outlets in addition to certain games, stalls, eating joint, info -cum registration desk of AGPS, Pahalgam and a medical aid centre. The highlights of the mela included various competitive games in different age groups for all guests. People from all walks of life took keen interest and participated actively.The event was attended by approximately 1500 people and it was a treat to see them enjoying a sunny day in the beautiful Lidder Valley
