Srinagar, January 01: Nine persons were injured in different road accidents across the Kashmir Valley.A Tata Sumo bearing registration number JK05A/6120 turned turtle near STC Sheeri, Baramulla, falling under the jurisdiction of police station Sheeri, resulting in injuries to seven passengers traveling in the Sumo and driver of the vehicle Farooq Ahmad Shah, son of Abdul Rashid, resident of Salamabad, Uri. The injured were shifted to District Hospital, Baramulla for treatment, where driver Farooq Ahmad was referred to SKIMS, Soura, Srinagar. A case has been registered in this regard.
An Auto Load Carrier, bearing registration number JK01Q/4673 hit and injured Gulzar Ahmad Hajam, son of Mohammad Shaban, resident of Zewan, at Zewan, Srinagar, falling under the jurisdiction of police station, Panthachowk. The injured was shifted to hospital for treatment. A case has been registered in this regard. Meanwhilefire broke out in the showroom of Ghulam Mohi-ud-Din Dar, son of Abdul Sattar, resident of Batpora, Srinagar and two adjacent shops of Mohammad Altaf Dar and Jehangir Ahmad sons of Ghulam Mohi-ud-Din at Batpora, Srinagar falling under the jurisdiction of police station R.M Bagh, resulting in the damage of all the structures. However, no loss of life or injury was reported in this incident. The cause of the fire is being ascertained.

During the intervening night of 30/31.12.2011, fire broke out at Ganipora Mattan, Anantnag, falling under the jurisdiction of police station Mattan, resulting partial damage to the three residential houses belonging to Mohammad Yaqoob Dar, son of Mohammad Ramzan, Bilal Ahmad Bhat, son of Ghulam Mohammad and Ali Mohammad Dar , son of Mohammad Ramzan, residents of Ganipora. However, no loss of life or injury was reported in this incident.
Fire broke out in the residential house cum cowshed of Yaqoob Khan, son of Buhadur Khan and Cowshed of Ghulam Mohammad Khan, son of Buhadur Khan, residents of Fateh Khan, Check Halmatpora, Kupwara, falling under the jurisdiction of police station Kupwara, resulting in complete damage to both the structures. One ox and a cow were also charred in this incident. The cause of the fire is being ascertained.
