2 persons arrested, Gas supply of Hotel Grand Mumtaz seized in Anantnag

Anantnag, 15: Two persons were arrested for black-marketing of cooking gas and 55 domestic cooking gas cylinders including 25 cylinders that were illegally supplied to Hotel Grand Mumtaz, were seized in the raids conducted by CAPD Team headed by Assistant Director Food and Supplies, Anantnag at various places of the District in the last two days.

Instructed by the District Commissioner Anantnag, Syed Kifayat Hussain Rivi the raids were jointly conducted by the officials from the CAPD and Qazigund Police.
Assistant Director  Food and Supplies, Anantnag, Gulam Rasool Magray said, “On the instructions of Deputy Commissioner Anantnag, who received a complaint from Qazigund of black marketing of cooking gas, we constituted a team, that made extensive tour of the area, during the visit they found that the two shopkeepers namey Gulam Nabi Wani and Gowhar Ahmad shah had illegally dumped the 30 gas cylinders.” Adding that with the help of Local police we seized the gas cylinders, further accused were arrested by police.
He said, “Similarly, during late hours, I received a call from unknown person who informed me that a Tata mobile vehicle bearing registration number JKOIG 6512 loaded with 25 domestic gas cylinders and some commercial gas cylinders, is on way from Srinagar to Phalgam and requested for Action.”
He said that we came into action and seized vechile along with 25 gas cylinders at Aishmuqam in early morning, that was being supplied to Hotel Grand Mumtaz Phalgam.
He said that the CAPD Department will continue to conduct such raids in District Anantnag,as to curb the black-marketing of LPG.
