Srinagar, February 15:The Inspector General of Police Kashmir Zone, Mr. S.M.Sahai, inaugurated the first phase of Skiing Coaching Camp at Gulmarg, today.
Participating in first ever Skiing Coaching camp, being organised under the aegis of J&K Police, nearly, 25 youth from North Kashmir Range, will be imparted seven days basic training by the Professional instructors of J&K Police. The expenditure of their boarding, lodging and logistics will be borne by J&K Police. One such camp was today inaugurated by the Inspector General of Police Kashmir Zone, Mr. S.M.Sahai.
While referring to this particular camp, the IGP asserted that youth attending this camp have been selected from all the five Districts/Police Districts of North Kashmir Range. The IGP, said it has been an endeavour of J&K Police to promote sports and other co-curricular activities for budding youth of the State to enrich their talent and provide them an opportunity to excel and explore in all spheres of life. The IGP referred the talent hunt show “ Choona hai Aasman” which is under way in the whole of Valley, as an example, and reiterated that such activities under the under the aegis of J&K Police, will continue in the nook and corner of the Valley.
IGP further said, that in the second phase, the youth from Central and the South Kashmir Ranges, shall be participating, which shall commence from February 23rd-2012.
A large gathering comprising of officers from Army, Paramilitary forces and Govt. organizations, and from the general Public, were present on the occasion. Mr. Munir Ahmad Khan, IPS DIG of Police North Kashmir Range and all the District SsP/SP PDs of North Kashmir Range, were present in the inauguration ceremony.
