Multiple Grenade attacks in Kashmir ahead of Republic Day

Suspected militants on Friday afternoon targetted security forces at several places in Kashmir by hurling grenades on their installations.

Millitants hurled grenade on Police Post Bus Stand Anantnag in the afternoon resulting injuries to a police cop and civilian. 

Injured police constable identified as Sajad Ahmad was shifted to District hospital for treatment.

Earlier, militants hurled a grenade like explosive at police station Srigufwara in Bijbehara area of the district. However no report of any loss of life or injuries was reported in the attack. 
Militants also on Friday evening lobbed a UBGL in Tahab area of South Kashmir’s Pulwama district.
Officials said that suspected militants lobbed UBGL followed by firing on 55RR Camp at Tahab Pulwama.


However, they said that no loss of life or injury was reported in the attack.
Militants also tossed a grenade on CRPF bunker in Sopore town of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district.
An official said that the suspected militants lobbed the grenade towards the bunker of paramilitary force’s 179 battalion.
The device, however, missed the target and exploded on road side, he said.
At all places, security forces have corodned off areas and launched searche operations. An alert was also sounded in South Kashmir ahead of Republic Day.
