Jaish Militant arrested in Anantnag, Two others apprehended in Ramban

Anantnag, May 13: Security forces on Monday arrested a militant of Jaish-e- Muhammad outfit from Panzoo-Verinag area of Anantnag district during a cordon and serach operation. 

According to reports, Forces had launched a serach and cordon operation in Panzoo village of Verinag and apprehended a local militant affilated with Jaish-e-Mohmmad militant outfit. 

Anantnag police while confirmed the arrested of militant and identified him as Hilal Ahmad son of Ali Mohammad Mir of Panzoo village in verinag.

"The militant has been arrested and further investigation in this regard is going on," Police said. 

Anantnag police said that arms and ammunition were recovered from the arrested militant. 

Meanwhile in Gool area of Ramban, on specific information regarding suspicious movement of some Anti-national elements, a joint operation was launched by Police Component Gool along with 58 RR and 9 Para at about 3.30 a.m. 
During the process of cordon and search, two suspects were apprehended along with arms and ammunition. 

The duo has been identified as 1. Showkat Ahmed Sheikh S/o Gulam Nabi Sheikh R/o Charsoo,  Awantipora, Pulwama and 2. Taweel Mohiudin Dar S/o Gh Mohiudin Dar R/o Malipura, Kulgam.

One AK 47 rifle, One AK 47 magazine, 30 rounds of AK 47 and Indian currency Rs.8771/ was recovered from duo. 

In this regard A case FIR No 40/2019 u/s 121 A, 120 B, 122 RPC 13/17/19 ULA (P) Act  was registered and investigation was taken up, Police said in statement. 

During preliminary investigations, the accused persons have been found affiliated with LET terrorist organisation  and were acting on the instructions of one Naveed @ Abu Talla, an active militant of the group, Police said.
