SRINAGAR, Mar 8: With the announcement of Model Code of Conduct by the Election Commission of India for the Lok Sabha elections slated to be held from April 7 yet another glaring violation has come up with Technical Education Department ordering transfer of its officials.

Officials heading ITI institutions in the summer capital of Valley were shocked to see when on 6th of this month they received transfer orders via fax from civil Secretariat Jammu which is evident violation of model code of conduct as it came into force earlier a day.
Via Fax number 2451345 ITI officials in Valley started receiving transfer orders from 11 am on 6th of this month a day after Election Commission announced model code of conduct for the general Lok Sabha elections. According to this order dated 28-02-2014, with subject transfers, adjustments and positing in ITI Sector, The Technical Education/ Youth Services and Sports Department has transferred 27 officials mainly ITI heads in Jammu and Kashmir region.
An ITI head who himself received transfer order, wishing anonymity told Early Times that order passed with previous date was deliberate just to dodge the Election Commission. However he said that still this order carries no weight, as according to the Model Code of Conduct (MCC) officials who receive their transfer orders after its announcement by the Election Commission, have to maintain status-quo which means they haven't to join the new postings.
