Now Soz says time to do away with AFSPA

Stating that armed struggle has reduced to a large extent in Jammu and Kashmir, state Congress chief, Saifuddin Soz Saturday said that government should do away with Armed Forces Special Powers for certain areas of the state.

“Armed militancy has reduced to a large extent as such we should think about AFSPA. All I wanted was consolations should be held with defence, Home Minister, state congress being coalition partners and the Unified Command,” Soz told reporters on the sidelines of party function in Kupwara district of north Kashmir, PBI reported.
“I think my advice has been honoured and everybody is thinking about it. All I said annul the act after consultations,” he added.
Earlier, addressing party workers, Sarpanchs and Panchs at Kupwara, Trehgam and Kralpora, Soz said demands of the people will be fulfilled
