Anantnag, Nov. 21: In its on-going campaign against ‘corruption and miss-governance’ of the present regime headed by National Conference, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) today organized protest demonstrations at all district headquarters of Kashmir province in which thousands of workers participated in the demonstrations.
Like other District Headquarters, demonstration was Also held at Anantnag which was led by PDP Disrict president Mohd Hussain who was accompanied by MLA Bijbehara Ab Rahman Veeri, MLA Shangus, Peer Mansoor Hussain, MLA Phalgam, Mohd Rafi Mir, Ab Rahim Rather and other senior leaders of the Party..
Addressing the workers, Leaders claimed that due to non existence of a working government, the responsibility of PDP has increased manifold.

“The sufferings of the people on all fronts have made it compulsory for the PDP to take the route of agitation for highlighting day today problems of the common masses. Moreover, by making comparison of present regime with the previous PDP-Congress government, peoples’ expectations from the party have also gone up,”MLA Shangus Mansoor Husaain Said..
MLA Phalgam, Mohd Rafi Mir said that present government during the last three years had done nothing to show as its achievement- be it on political, development or administrative fronts. She reminded that during the previous summer uprising more than 120 youth were killed. She added that the CM himself was also involved in the corruption and the murder of his own party worker Haji Mohd Yousf.

MLA Bijbehara, Ab Rahman Veeri said that the present government has established a mafia raj where the arrogance of power has led to total disconnection with the people, development process has taken a back seat, unemployment on rise and there is subversion in recruitment rules and process,” she maintained and said that the government which had promised government jobs to the 8th pass, stipend to educated youth, has now asking the very same educated youth to work as daily wagers on 50 percent salary on regular jobs.
She alleged that corruption had been institutionalized with Chief Minister’s office becoming its fountain head. “The courtiers’ fortunes zooming high, ministers and other officials making hay while the sun shine,” he alleged.
He said that due to mishandling of the situation and ‘failure’ to provide governance to the people, the Chief Minister has been using all his energy to stabilize his position making all kinds of compromises which has brought down the institution of Chief Minister.
“Taking advantage of his insecurity, the people around the Chief Minister have been looting the state leading to total chaos adding to the miseries of people,” she said.
Pointing towards deteriorating power scenario in the state, Mehbooba said that in contrast to the improvement in the power scenario during the PDP-Congress regime, the present government has failed to provide regular supply of power to the people, despite the fact that Baglihar power project is functioning and the electric fee has been increased manifold..
Reiterating his party’s stand that all harsh laws like AFSPA have to go with the improvement in the situation, as was done away with POTA during PDP-Congress regime, Veeri claimed that by making announcement without doing spadework, the Chief Minister has used the AFSPA to divert attention of the nation from its ‘mis-governance, mal-administration and corruption’, which has got further exposed by the allegation of custodial killing of NC worker Haji Yosuf.
he exhorted the party workers to take battle against corruption, nepotism and mis-governance to the grass root level by launching similar type of campaign at zone levels.
Similarly At Kulgam , senior former Minister and MLA Homshalibugh Sofi Abdul Gaffar Sofi addressed the agitating party workers.
