Srinagar, January 14: Today district level debate on Human Rights under the Chairmanship of Sr. Superintendent of Police, Srinagar, Syed Ashiq Hussain Bukhari, was held in the conference hall of District Police Lines, Srinagar. The debate was in continuation of the debate/competitions being conducted every year on Human Rights in various formations of the police
The topic for the debate was “State Violations of Human Rights escalates violence rather than controls it” and Sate violations of Human Rights destroys public faith in governance and thus feeds terrorism”. The participants were drawn from various ranks of District Police, Srinagar who spoke exclusively on various issues connected with the topic of the debate.
The debate was part of the policy of the police to acquaint its men and officers to the concepts and issues related to Human Rights.
