Forces killed two LeT Militants in Kulgam

Kulgam, May 25: Two Lashker-e-Toiba (LeT) militants affailed with Ayatollah group (Sub-Group of LeT) were killed during a gunfight with forces during a gunfight in Nowpora village of Kulgam district on Sunday.
 Both the militants were hiding in the house of Panchayat representative hose which got damaged during the gunfight.
According to police Sources Army's 1RR, CRPF and SOG Kulgam launched a cordon-and-search operation in Nowapora Frisal area of Kulgam fallowing specific information about the presence of two local militants hiding inside the house of Sarpanch identified as Feroz Ahmad Sheikh.
At around 12: pm both the local militants fired upon the army's searching party resulting a fierce gun battle between the militants and forces. In 7 hours long gunfight both the locals militants got
killed while as the house of sarpnach got damaged.

Dead bodies of the militants were later recovered from the debris of their hideout which was destroyed. Police Sources identified the slain militants as Zubair Ahmad Bhat @Musab S/O Nazir Ahmad resident of Nowpora and Ishfaq Ahmad Bhat @Amir S/o Ghulam Ahmad Bhat resident of Chako from Shopian. They said Zubair Ahmad Bhat was involved in killing of a policeman who was killed in Arwani area of South Kashmir this year.
Forces have also recovered huge cache of arms and ammunition from the encounter site including two AK47 rifles, Two Chinese Pistols and grenades.
