Steep decline in Saffron productions concerns BJP Union Minister for agriculture, Promises crop insurance scheme, soil health card

During his maiden visit to Kashmir valley Union Minister for agriculture, Radhay Mohan Singh while interacting with party workers in Srigufwara area of South Kashmir on Saturday expressed deep concern over the reduction of saffron production and assured help from center government for what he called ‘Saffron Revolution’.

Addressing the party workers Singh, who earlier inaugurated a saffron park in Pampore said, “it is not the first time I am visiting Kashmir earlier as a BJP leader I have visited this place several times. All we know that Kashmir is famous its beauty and especially for the production of saffron but I want to question all those parties who ruled the state why the this deep decline of saffron production.” Said told the gathering.

He said that since Narendra Modi took as a the prime minister of this country he started working on uplifting the standard of lives of rural population villagers through streamlining the agriculture sector of the country as the agriculture is the main source of earning livelihood of the villagers.

“Just before few days Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited Leh and from that place he promised to revolutionize the saffron production in Kashmir and today it is the result of his promise that I am visiting Jammu and Kashmir and inaugurated 400 crore worth saffron project whose 80% funding component will of central government.” said Singh.

He promised to introduce crop insurance scheme in the state besides opening bank outlets in each village on Gujrat pattern. “You must see who Gujrat has changed and how the per capita income of the state has increased under the dynamic leadership of Narendra Modi, so our aim and wish is to revolutionize the agriculture sector of the state.” Adding main stress will laid on increasing the production of walnut, almonds, apple and flowers.

He said that besides crop insurance scheme, central government will launch Soil health card scheme for revolutionizing the agriculture filed. “none among you might be aware about the health of the soil so we have decided to launch soil health card scheme which is scientific revolutionary step and will aware you about the health of the soil.” He said.

Stressing workers to work hard, Singh said that BJP was the only political plate forum on which a single ordinary hard working activist can reach to upper levels. “BJP is the only political party where ordinary activists like Narendra Modi who was a tea seller but in other political parties the more you work hard the more you will get discouraged as they are projecting their sons and relatives rather than hardworking party workers.” He added.

He entrusted upon workers to ensure maximum membership of the party from their respective blocks.

Function was also addressed by several other party senior leaders. Around 400 activists turned to attend the party convention in Srigufwara which is native area of BJP Leader Mohmmad Yousf Sofi.
