In
yet another case, On Friday, a tribal family carried pregnant woman on
shoulders to Qazigund hospital for deliver as the Kulgam district administration
failed to clear snow accumulated in roads.
As per details, Mevish Jan, a resident of village Dingowari
Manzmoh of Qazigund was brought to hospital in a makeshift cradle as Mechanical
Department hadn’t cleared the roads. A video showing family carrying the pregnant
lady has also appeared on social media sites.
Family travelled around six kilometers from the village to
reach on Srinagar-Jammu National Highway. However, on reaching the National
Highway, the family members alleged that they didn’t receive any help from the Qazigund
Hospital.
Locals, who spotted tribal family carrying the pregnant lady
on shoulders, expressed resentment against the Kulgam district administration.
This isn’t for the first time that civil administration has
made tribal community to suffer. A woman from a remote village of north
Kashmir’s Kupwara district gave birth to a stillborn on a roadside in Srinagar
after doctors disallowed her overnight stay at Lal Ded hospital.
The incident had triggering massive public outrage across
the State but it seems the civil administration hasn’t learnt lessons.
