Three people died after an avalanche hit snow
clearance team in south Kashmir’s Aru-Pahalgam on Friday.
Reports said that a snow clearance team was swept away along
with a JCB after a snow avalanche hit them on the Aru-Pahalgam road at Gudkhamb
point in Anantnag district.
One has been rescued alive by the rescue teams and was immediately
shifted to hospital for treatment.
Deceased have been identified as Ilyas Ahmad Ahmad s/o Abdul
Gani R/o Mandoora Tral (JCB Driver), Javed Ahmad Sheikh s/o Mohd Shaban Sheikh
R/o Frsilan Pahlagam and Abdul Aziz R/o Awoora Pahalgam.
Deputy Commissioner Anantnag Mohd Younis Malik along with
Sub-Divisional Magistrate Pahalgam Mohd Ashraf supervised the rescue
operations. Station House Officer Shabir Ahmad was leading the rescue
operation.
